Most guys can throw away the traditional idea of the woman’s place being in the kitchen and having dinner ready for their man when he gets home from a hard day’s work. We can bury that idea with the times as more and more women are making their home inside the garage (ahem). With more women working in the auto industry, it only makes sense for a women to build SEMA quality show cars. But not just any build, but a Mustang build designed and built by the ladies.
Three designs are up for votes and one will become a reality. Women from all aspects of the auto industry have collaborated to raise money for the SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund. This SEMA Mustang Build Powered by Women now has three renderings available for you to choose your favorite design. Once the design is said and done, it will be auctioned off to the highest bidder on eBay with the proceeds benefiting the SEMA Memorial Scholarship Fund.
The first design is called Chromatic and it is designed by Jennifer Seely from Ford Motor Company. It seems to be a neutral color with wheels and accents that really pop out at you. It looks like the perfect drift car with the bright colors. According to description, this is the ultimate Pop culture edition Mustang. She takes a lot of elements into the design such as incorporating pop culture and street art with a vivid color palette. The exterior is anthracite colored chrome exterior with neon accents such as bright cyan wheels, white leather racing interior, aggressive track suspension and a mean V8 to match.
The second rendering is called High Gear and is also a Jennifer Seely creation but much more tame in regards to color. However, the design is still mean and she has taken cues from architecture, jewelry catalogs, and couture clothing. This design is all about luxury and power.
The third and final design is by Theresa Contreras from L&G Enterprises and member of the SEMA Women’s Business Network. This American muscle car has tone on tone dark metallic finishes and really embraces the sexy curves of a Mustang, much like fine lingerie on a woman. This is a very dramatic design and really has a super raw feel.
You have up until June 3rd to cast your vote on the Mustang build for SEMA, so ladies, get voting to see if your favorite is unveiled at this year’s SEMA show! I’ve already put mine in!
