The 2010 Camaro V6 upped the ante when it comes to base-model muscle cars with its 300+ horsepower 3.6 liter engine. Not to be outdone, Ford came out the next year with a new 3.7 liter V6 engine that delivers 305 horsepower and 31 mpg. Not too shabby, and as the aftermarket is discovering, the 3.7 liter V6 is a potent engine in its own right. A few small modifications can have a big effect on this motor.

The Airaid Filter Company has decided to take advantage of the new all-aluminum V6 by introduced a new cold air intake system for the 3.7 liter engine. In just a few minutes you can make more horsepower and help your engine breathe better with the Airaid setup.

Airaid’s own David Edelman was on hand to show how fast and easy it is to install a new MXP-series cold air intake system on a 2011-13 Ford Mustang V6. A crack-and-shrink resistant urethane body matches up to a high-flow air filter to help promote better breathing, helping to deliver better horsepower and torque to the ground.

So how much better is Airaid’s system over stock? On the dyno, an Airaid-equipped Mustang V6 made 13 extra horsepower and 15 ft-lbs of torque versus a stock, factory V6 Mustang…all from a product that is affordable and easy to install. Plus, if you stick around towards the end of the video, you get a chance to hear this new intake in action. Quite an improvement in how the V6 Mustang sounds as well!
