Billed as the eight-toughest days of racing for America’s fastest street-legal cars, the One Lap of America is an annual road-and-track test that pits the best against the best. The rules are simple; contestants drive street-legal cars between several tracks over the course of just eight days, racking up thousands of miles and hardly giving their performance cars a breather.
Roush Performance has competed in several previous One Lap competitions, and 2012 will be no different. As in years past, Roush will enter its top-of-the-line 2013 RS3 Mustang into the One Lap of America, with hopes of taking home the glory of first place.
This year competitors will race at eight different tracks in just 10 days, driving an average of 400 miles between tracks! At each track the competitors will line up their cars for various competitions of speed, from bracket-style drag racing and time trials on oval tracks.
The purpose-built Roush RS3 can, and will excel at all of these competitions. In 2011 the RS3 came in 3rd place overall, and this year it brings more horsepower and an even more refined suspension to the track. Now packing 565 horsepower and 505 ft-lbs of torque, the 2013 Roush RS3 should have what it takes to bring home the gold in this year’s One Lap competition.
