While the public got its first look at the 2013 RS3 Mustangs last November, the first refreshed muscle cars won’t reach Ford dealerships until later this spring. But over at Roush Performance, they have already recieved their first shipment of 2013 Mustangs for conversion into Rough RS3 supercars.
Knowing that us Mustang fans are the impatient sort, Roush has teased us with the first picture of the upcoming 2013 RS3 model on their Facebook page. And wouldn’t you know it, before this went to press, they released a second teaser shot.
One of the biggest changes to the 2013 Mustang has been its butt, which was lambasted as boring and dull. Ford improved that with LED tail lamps surrounded by black accents, which if you ask us was a huge improvement. The focus on this new rear end gives away few details, though that is definitely not a stock spoiler.
And while we weren’t expecting any major drivetrain changes, Roush has surprised with a second teaser shot of the RS3 engine plaque. And wouldn’t you know it, it lists the horsepower as 565 ponies, with 505 ft-lbs of torque on tap. That is a significant power jump, up from 540 horsepower and 465 ft-lbs of torque. We don’t what they did to get those better numbers…and we can’t wait to find out.
