The engineers over at Ford have been keeping very busy with updates to the Mustang lineup. It was just three years ago that we got the less-retro, more-muscular look for the 2010 Mustang and 2011 brought us two new (and great) engines, while 2012 saw the return of the Boss 302. For 2013 Ford has gone a step further, cramming a ton of technology into its pony car while offering even more ways to customize your vehicle.
Indeed, Ford has announced that its performance division, Ford Racing, has put the finishing touches on its 2013 Mustang project car. Painted in the lively Gotta Have It Green, this Mustang project car packs a lot of performance parts.
Ford Racing dug deep into its parts bins to put together this Mustang, starting with a Ford Racing Performance Parts 2.3 liter Whipple supercharger. Coupled with an intercooler and Boss 302 coil-packs, this supercharger adds a lot of oomph to the 2013 Mustang. The side-exhaust kit, meanwhile, helps increase air flow while looking infinitely badass.
The clean, crisp look goes well with the 2013 Mustang...as does the supercharger system
When it came time for the suspension, Ford didn’t miss a beat. Their project Mustang has dynamic dampers on all four corner, along with new control arms, huge Brembo brakes, and a one-inch drop that gives the Mustang an asphalt-scraping look. The black wheels add to the bold look, and we love the spoiler-delete option. All-in-all, an amazing project car and one we’re sure the guys at Ford Racing had a blast building (and driving).
