The 2013 makeover for the Mustang has definitely launched the pony car into the 21st century with a host of new technological features. From LED tail lights to the new SYNC infotainment system, the Mustang is a technological wonder. But for us speed freaks, the only new device we care about are the Track Apps, a collection of performance-measuring programs that can tell you just how well your car is performing.

Ford has released a video detailing how each app works, what they look like, and how they are used.

It’s basically like taking the function of a drag strip and applying it to your own personal car. Our favorite Track App, without a doubt, is the Acceleration Timer. This app measures acceleration, including 0-60 mph and ¼ mile times. But the neatest feature about this app is that the 4.2-inch LCD screen displays a drag strip Christmas tree, with the red, amber, and green lights flashing just like they would at a strip.

There is also an accelerometer to measure G-forces and braking performance as well. These track apps add a whole new dimension to owning a muscle car, allowing you to measure different driving techniques and modifications without going to a dyno or track day.
