The epic public battle between Mustang and Camaro has been simmering ever since GM decided they would amp up the competition with a new Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 while adding a whole lot of smack talk along the way. While GM thinks it’s alright to say that the their new Camaro ZL1 was the inspiration behind the new 2013 Shelby GT500, Ford Motor Company shot back saying that the B0SS 302 is indeed the obvious inspiration behind the 650-HP Shelby GT500. The pony wars won’t seem to cease as more information is thrown into the pot.

Well, one thing is for sure. The brand new Shelby GT500 has already won the battle of the “smarts”. One Auto show-goer cleverly shot some video of the track-apps available in the Shelby’s sleek dash which features everything you might possibly need in the form of an electronic catalog. Many measurements are available like cylinder head temperature, oil pressure and temperature, air/fuel ratio, acceleration timer, brake performance, fuel economy, countdown start, intake air pressure that tuners need to get the most out of their vehicles. It’s far more advanced than the Camaro’s dash that seems to be monotone and downright blah. Ford already uses the advanced technology in their F-series pickups so the truck drivers are able to tell information such as grade angles, etc.

But don’t think this option is only limited to the GT500 – both the GT and BOSS 302 will have this gauge display as well. Also, it may feature more advanced software to overcome setbacks from the Mustang chassis design making that highly-hyped ZL1 visible in the rear view only.
