At the L.A. Auto Show in November, Ford unveiled the latest refresh for the S197 Mustang. This bold new look borrowed the facial features of the GT500, added some spiffy new LED taillights, and overall gave the Mustang new features and looks to last until a next-generation vehicle is unveiled. Continuing the tradition of the California Special model, Ford has released the first images of the 2013 model, which helps the 2013 model look even better (if you ask us.)
Ford has yet to release details on the parts list that will come on the 2013 California Special model. Traditionally, this has been a looks-only package, featuring many Ford Racing parts that had nothing really to do with racing. Not that that is a bad thing, mind you, as it leaves gearheads a clean slate to modify.
Going only on what we can see here, the California Special gets new front grille, side stripes, a new hood, special 5-spoke wheels, a pedestal spoiler, glass roof, and plenty more features we’re sure. The improvements are sure to carry on on the inside too, but the California Special has a presence that helps set itself apart from the rest of the Mustang lineup. Do you dig the looks, or do you have to wait for more details to make up your mind?
