A Chinese Mustang owner wanted a truly unique interior upgrade with genuine horse leather, so he turned to noted customizer Vilner Studios.
Mustangs are known for being customized to suit the tastes of their owners. This adaptability is part of what makes the pony car such an iconic machine. Because the car is affordable, you can spend a little extra cash making it into something uniquely yours. For a 2015 Mustang owner in China, that meant turning to noted customizer, Vilner Studio, for truly authentic upgrade — a genuine horse-leather interior.
“This is a real Mustang, I want the leather to be from a Mustang as well,” the customer told Vilner.
So, the company set out to completely revamp the red ’Stang’s cabin with a mixture of Alcantara, horse hide, and red stitching to match the car’s paint.
The interior features a blend of genuine horse leather, Alcantara and red stitching.
“Team Vilner decided that it’s most appropriate to use the ‘hairy’ leather bits for the sides of the seats. The rest was also wrapped in horse leather entirely by hand,” says the company blog. “If you look up closely you’ll notice those beautifully executed, hand-perforated elements. The strings are in Bordeaux red, as the seat belts and the seams around the handbrake, which is also wrapped in Mustang leather.”
Most of the other details are wrapped in Alcantara and the headliner received a pair of red-painted Cobras. In all, while horse leather wouldn’t be our choice, the finished product looks quite classy, though you might not want to take your ultra-vegan, animal-lover Tinder date out in a car that is purely Mustang inside and out.
This one-off Mustang also features a unique headliner adorned with two red Cobras and it wears a dash plaque signifying its unique breeding.
