When you think of the Street Machine Summer Nationals, you probably think about seeing a lot of classic cars. As you’ll see by the coverage on our sister site, Ford Muscle, you wouldn’t be wrong. However, there was definitely a smattering of modern Ford performance cars on the scene this year as well.
We spent the past weekend soaking up all the action over the three-day event held annually at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds and it warmed our hearts that a newer Ford performance machines were on hand at the show. From parking in the show areas to carving up the cones on the autocross, these cars looked right at home alongside the vintage iron.

As you might expect, many of the modern Fords gravitated toward the QA1 Autocross, where they can showcase Ford’s latest suspension engineering.
Everything from Shelby GT350s and Super Snakes to Focus STs and Mustang GTs was on the property, which bodes well for the future of car culture. If you missed this year’s event, the next Street Machine Nationals rolls into Springfield, Missouri, on September 23, and you can get more information here.
