We are under way for the final day of the Atlanta NMCA/NMRA All Star Nationals with the heads up eliminations set to begin around noon today. The skies are clearing out from the overcast morning here in Commerce bring the track up to temp. A live feed is available for the on track action by Motormaniatv.com and please say tuned to StangTV for updates through out the day.

Jim Monson unloads his number 10 qualified Pro Outlaw Mustang this morning. He will face NMCA racer Brian Hicks' Hemi powered Challenger in round one.
The Tuten brothers are here this weekend but Brian is the only one still in as Chris hurt the engine back on Friday. Brian struggled with an oiling problem after bring the car out last year and hurt the engine several times. For 2012 that issue is fixed up and they are finally starting to get some good data to move the program forward and was the only car in class to get down the track well on Saturday.
Victor Neiblas was running without nitrous through qualifying as a wiring issue wasn't activating the system for the Blow By Racing Renegade racer out of Miami, Florida. It's all fixed up this morning but they have no date on this track and face off with Tim Matherly in round one. They will take baby steps with it and hope to make it by Matherly and meet up with Brain Mitchell.
I dropped in on Nitto Factory Stock racer Louis Sylvester Jr.'s pits and had a quick talk with engine builder John Zebb now with Borowski Racing Engines after closing up his own shop.Sylvester has broken three T-5 transmission over the weekend but other wise is running fine. He qualified in third with a 10.97 @ 122 and faces off with Trenton, Georgia racer Kermit Buffington first today. The Chicago based team wears the number 2 on the window this year and are looking to better that for the 2012 season.
Another racer in Nitto Factory Stock is Sondra Leslie who runs out of the DeMarco Racing camp with a Coyote engine in her 2006 Mustang she campaigned in Super Stang for the past two years with a supercharged V-6. Sondra and boyfriend Dave DeMarco gutted the car and transformed it to Factory Stock in the off season. Sponsors on the car are Team Z Motorsports, Hellion Power Systems, DeMarco Racing, Strange Engineering, JPC, BBR, Finishline Performance, Livernois Motorsports, Stainless Works and Pro Torque. She runs an FBAO3 auto trans and is the only auto in class. Though running a Coyote engine it wasn't a sealed unit, which is fine with her as she prefers the freedom of tuning the engine to running the sealed, spec engine Coyote Stock class. This is the first time running a heads up class and they have been struggling a bit figureing out the three link suspension this weekend.

Eric LeFerriere had luck go his way on route to the final with Mike Murillo in an NMCA vs. NMRA final. After a round one opponent broke bye, Jim Monson bursting the intercooler losing water and coming up light on the scales in round two and a near miss accident as Frank Meshaw crossed the center line and went over on his roof in the semis one might say he had an easy road but the car runs very well and Laerriere put up a game race in the final with Murillo taking the win by about .06 at the stripe.

Kenjo didn't have to show his hand till the final but he went .004 red throwing away his quicker 7.16 @ 199 pass. Urist had a good, long weekend on the difficult track and thanks his wife Melissa and crew, Mike King and Mike Rousch and a big hats off to the other racers in the class for some good tight racing.

Dan Kroll and Jason Lee met up in the Afco/Stainless Works Drag Radial final with both racers having it relatively easy getting here and Lee having the more consistant car this weekend. Kroll had the starting line advantage but struck the tires early and clicked it early, Lee did the same a bit farther down track cruising through to a 7.97 @ 134 taking the win for PTP Racing and Strange Engineering. Besides having to swap out the transmission early Friday the rest of the weekend was uneventfull and without breakage.
