SEMA 2011: Magnuson Superchargers’ MP2300 TVS ’11 Mustang System

The calibration for these supercharger systems keeps improving each and every year, and and that’s how we’ve been able to attain over 500 horsepower with this latest generation of supercharger systems.

The featured attraction over at the Magnuson Superchargers display at this year’s SEMA Show here in Las Vegas is their aftermarket supercharger system for the 2011-12 5.0L Ford Mustang, which we featured here in our guide to power adder upgrades for the 2011 Mustang earlier this year.

This relatively new, sixth generation Magnuson MP2300 TVS system utilizes Eaton’s hybrid “Twin Votices” roots supercharger unit, which delivers all of its advantages via its four-lobe, 160-degree high helix rotors that provide increased air flow, a wider operating range, and higher pressure capability, all while keeping operating temperatures and noise in check.

The MP2300 TVS system contains Magnuson’s cast aluminum, high-velocity intake manifold, intercooler core, coolant circulation pump, hear exchanger, all of the fittings, lines, belts, and hardware, along with the supercharger, of course. Flashpaq tuning and necessary fuel system upgrades to handle the kind of boost this system produces are also part of the package. These include high-flow fuel injectors with push-lock connectors and an SCT handheld programmer for calibration of the air/fuel ratio and ignition system.

This system is an “inlet forward” design, giving it a cleaner air path with less restrictions for overall more/better airflow and increased power numbers.

At six pounds of boost out of the box, the MP2300 TVS delivers 120 extra horses for your 2011-12 Mustang with a completely bolt-on installation that uses as many of the stock components as possible. And thanks to that approach, one can remove the system and return to stock at any time they wish.

“The calibration for these supercharger systems keeps improving each and every year, and and that’s how we’ve been able to attain over 500 horsepower with this latest generation of supercharger systems,” said Magnuson’s Wes Capel.
