SEMA 2016: Livernois Motorsports Reveals EcoBoost and Coyote Parts

At this year’s SEMA Show we came across what seemed to be a recurring theme. A lot of aftermarket vendors are aware that, with CAFE regulations looming, the reign of the V8 maybe be coming to an abrupt end, or at the very least turbocharged four cylinders are becoming more popular. Accordingly, we came across an assortment of EcoBoost parts that may just take hot rodding into the next era. Livernois Motorsports just so happened to be one of those companies that is hedging their bets on a booming EcoBoost market and is leading the way on performance part development. 

Starting with a high-flow fuel pump for the four cylinder 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine powering the Ford Mustang, Livernois is betting that the base model Mustang will be a crowd favorite and perhaps just as fun to modify as its traditional V8 counterpart. The unit has been ported to flow better and should allow the direct-injection system to support more ponies.

“We look forward to getting all of our EcoBoost stuff out there as quickly as possible,” said Cason Kirkpatrick of Livernois Motorsports. “We’re known for being a very large EcoBoost tuner and we are going to continue to support them heavily.”

Make no mistake though, Livernois is still bringing a lot to the V8 table, starting with their newly developed CNC-ported Hellcat heads available in Street, Pro, or Race Series. Kirkpatrick told us that they are aware of the growing Hellcat market and are quickly rushing new components into development to support that trend.

“We developed the heads specifically for the enthusiast that wants the power and wants the ease of doing them themselves at home,” Kirkpatrick said. “They should provide a good boost in power for any Hellcat owner.”

Livernois also rolled out their Powerstorm 5 engine main caps for both the 5.0-liter Coyote and 5.2-liter Voodoo V8 applications as well. Constructed from 1044 billet steel, Kirpatrick said that the cross-bolted main caps would easily support over 1,000 horsepower when paired with their ductile iron sleeve conversion.
