The 2016 SEMA Show was one for the history books – custom cars and trucks galore, new and groundbreaking products looking to change up the industry, and hundreds of thousands of visitors from as far as Australia and the United Arab Emirates. It was a week of fun, and Power Automedia, exhibiting in the Central Hall, added to the mix with a sweet giveaway.
The E-Maxx Giveaway was a great way to speak with countless vendors, buyers, and other individuals at the Show. All of those who signed up for the contest were given the chance to sign up for our free digital magazines – Dragzine, EngineLabs, Diesel Army, Off Road Xtreme, StangTV, LSX Magazine, Street Muscle Magazine, Turnology, Revved, Corvette Online, Rod Authority, and Chevy Hardcore – and get a better look at everything revealed from the show.
We’re proud to announce the winner of the contest: Cheri Thomas of Aurora, Colorado. We talked to Cheri to get a sense of what she thought of the show, what her feelings are from winning the contest, and what she plans to do with her awesome E-Maxx remote control truck.
“It was my first time at the show,” said Cheri. “I thought it was wonderful. It was amazing! I went with my husband, who was part of the Pentad group.”
Asked about her feelings on winning the contest, Cheri said, “I’m honestly shocked that I won! I’m not very familiar with R/C cars, but I’m sure my grandchildren will love the E-Maxx.”
Cheri counts herself a fan of the hot rod market (she’d be perfect for our premier hot rod and street rod magazine, Rod Authority), and commented that she and her husband recently bought a 1934 Ford to take around town. “It’s a coupe, chopped, but not as severe as some of the other hot rods out there,” she said. With the gorgeous weather out there in Aurora right now, Cheri hopes to hop in the ’34 and take in the beautiful sights.
We’d like to congratulate Cheri on winning the E-Maxx Giveaway. And if you haven’t already, look for our newsletter subscription box up and to the right, or head to the Power Automedia website to look at all of our free digital titles.
