Transmission upgrades have long been a staple of Mustang performance. If you’re upgrading the horsepower, eventually you reach the limits of what the stock transmission is capable of handling. Fortunately there are aftermarket solutions available, however getting all the parts you need for a conversion can sometimes be tricky and even frustrating, and that’s where McLeod can help.

1999-2014 Mustang owners can find a manual transmission upgrade to suit their needs, along with all the parts to go with it, from McLeod. The transmissions come from Tremec in the form of their TKO-500, 600 or T-56 transmissions. McLeod sells the transmissions with an install kit, and also offers matching clutch kits to ensure that owners get the correct clutch for their intended application.

Clutches available include the McLeod Super Street Pro Single, rated for up to 500 hp for street and tack use. There’s also the RST twin disc, rated for 800 hp, and if you’re really planning on stepping things up the RXT is available, rated for 1,000 hp.

Where multiple gear ratios are an option, McLeod also allows buyers to specify which ratio set they want for their application. The install kits include virtually every component needed to get the transmission into the car, even a driveshaft in applications where it’s necessary as well as the correct bellhousing, speedometer adapter or VSS plug, hardware, and instructions.
