Ford got away with using the same basic underpinnings for the Mustang for the entire Fox-body and SN-95 eras – 26 model-years total – and while it might seem like a case of “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” the longevity of that chassis template turned out to be a boon for the aftermarket, especially when it came to suspension. When you can build a single part number (or at worst a pair) that will fit a quarter-century worth of cars, all sorts of crazy-cool stuff becomes possible that just wouldn’t be economical to make for a less-abundant platform. A perfect case in point is the Chris Alston’s Chassisworks ’79-04 Mustang Suspension catalog. It’s 40 pages of front and rear suspension parts, brakes, rearends, and shocks, all aimed straight at the most-modified domestic in automotive history.
The catalog is a free download, and filled with invaluable information no matter what level of racing you’re shooting for. If you have superhuman sales resistance or a lot of room on your credit cards to order everything your heart desires, consider requesting the free catalog and technical guide CD-ROM, which is packed with over 700 pages of information.
