Straight from the factory, the Shelby GT500 boasts a unique body kit and look that distinguishes it from any other Mustang on the road. But what if you want to distinguish your GT500 from other GT500? It’d be a shame to take such a fast, good looking car and just slap any old body kit on it. A really good looking body kit should enhance every aspect of the car, and to get that look right on a car like the GT500, you need a custom body kit.

Up on eBay is a great example of what a custom GT500 could look like, if you’ve got the time and money. The seller claims it’s the only 2008 GT500 with a widebody kit in the country, and it could be yours if the price is right.

Bought with just 500 miles on the clock by the current owner, this GT500 has progressed through three “stages” of modifications, beginning of course with the body kit. Built by APR, the GT500 was actually used as the “development” car which APR used to build the body kit. While we don’t always care for widebody kits, we find ourselves quite smitten with this one. Perhaps it’s the low, wicked look from the front, or the massive tires sitting out back, but this GT500 looks meaner than your average Shelby. More than that though, it looks clean.

After the body kit was done, the whole car was shipped off to be painted, piece by piece to ensure this car was meticulously covered in flawless paint. Phase three involved performance parts, including an all-new suspension system, Wilwood racing brake system, and glossy 20” wheels. The engine has been tuned to put 530 horsepower down to the ground, nothing to sneeze at.  The Buy-It-Now is currently right around $82,000 right now, but there are still eight days left.
