Of all the S197 Mustang variants built from 2005 through 2010, the 2008 Bullitt special edition has to be, in my opinion, the nicest, most livable one around if you’re looking for a daily driver. So, the only reason I can think of why Tim Allen would be looking to sell one off is that he doesn’t drive it enough to truly appreciate the car. Oh well, his loss could be your gain.
Listed on eBay with 5 days still to go, the bidding sits now at well over $23K without the reserve having been met. Aside from the normal Bullitt equipment, Allen has had Galpin Ford in Los Angeles upgrade some other areas. These include installing authentic 17″ x 8″ Torq Thrust wheels, shod with 255/50/ZR17 Kuhmo tires. The new rolling stock has been beefed up with a Ford Racing suspension kit.
The 4.6-liter engine has been made a little more snappy by the addition of Ford Racing cams, an upgraded throttle body, ceramic coated long tube headers and an SCT X3 power tuner.
With only 5,900 miles on the odometer, you’d be hard pressed to find a cleaner 2008 Bullitt around, let alone one with celebrity provenance. This Dark Highland Green pony would still turn heads wherever you park it, despite being several years old now.
You’re going to pay extra for that provenance, so here’s what you get for it. A photograph of Tim with the Bullitt, as well as the option to have Tim Allen sign the dash. You’ll also receive a copy of the Galpin Auto Sports documentation regarding the modifications completed.
The listing admits to a couple of tiny dings on one rear quarter – the size of pen tips, they say – so that could be free insurance against future damage, if you take care. After all, if it were perfect. stuff would be lining up to have a go at its pristine flanks.
If you’re a “Tool Time” kind of guy, you’ll want to check this auction out. The car is already above market for what it is without the Allen connection, but how far it goes will certainly be interesting to see.
