Owning a fast Mustang is a very rewarding experience, although it does have drawbacks, especially if you’re a parent with a teen driver living under the roof. Any attempt to explain to a 19-year-old why they aren’t allowed to drive a 550 horsepower, $50,000 GT500 will likely fall on deaf ears. Luckily, teenagers often make stupid mistakes with a video camera in hand these days, allowing us all to relive an important life lesson, like why you shouldn’t steal daddy’s GT500.
Mustang Heaven came across this (NSFW due to foul language) video of a teenager who, as the story goes, broke into his father’s garage while papa was away on business for a joy ride in the Shelby. Then he hits a deer, and his whole world comes crumbling down.
We can’t exactly explain why these teenage hooligans decided to videotape their unsanctioned escapades, but as the driver taps the gas pedal (giving us the satisfying whine of that supercharger) he insightfully says “If a deer runs out in front of me I am so bleeped.” One of his friends thinks that would be “funny,” as though the idea of running down a huge animal and damaging a beautiful idea constitute a comedy show. Moments later, a deer darts into the road, causing the driver to swerve and run an oncoming car off of the road. Luckily for all involved (except for the deer) a major accident appears to have been avoided, though the Shelby did not escape unscathed, as the passenger’s side mirror was left hanging by the wires after the collision with the deer.
The lesson here kids? Don’t steal daddy’s car, whatever it is. You’re going to get caught, sooner or later. These kids probably considered themselves lucky this accident wasn’t any worse, at least until daddy got home…
