We have seen plenty of concept cars over the years and generally, when we see them they are so far out there that we know they will never see the road. The Cobra Snakehead concept car looks like it is production ready to me though and boy does the beast look good. The concept gets the Snakehead name from the flared look of the front fenders that resemble a Cobra ready to strike. We like the design but we see some hints of other cars in there.
The greenhouse area and fender flares remind us of Ferrari and the front-end looks a lot like a Saturn Sky roadster. None of that matters though; we really like the overall look of the car. With the Shelby name on it, you can bet that the car will have some serious power if it goes into production. It would be easy to see a version of the 5.0 under the hood or a blown 5.4 out of a GT500. The designer of the car gave no hints as to what would power the Cobra Snakehead.
The designer of the sexy car is Andrus Ciprian. Ciprian says that inside the car the driver and passenger get the feeling that each is in their own cockpit. All the designer did say about performance was that the Snakehead would have super car levels. We would bet if it hits production, the price tag would be staggering. Expensive or not, we hope it comes to production. We thought Shelby wanted out of the car business to focus on performance parts.
