Mother Nature can be a fickle witch-with-a-b-word, destroying property and people indiscriminate of race or religion. Over the past year, we’ve seen what tornadoes could do to Mustangs in hard-hit areas from the MidWest and Deep South. Some cars have been salvagable; others not so much.

Judging by the photos posted over at the SVT Performance forums, hail damage from a recent storm in Texas may have taken down at least one more Mustang.

Drew, who goes by the username drwptcht, lists his location as Lubbock, Texas. That’s where a terrifying hail storm ripped through South Lubbock county, destroying homes, cars, and anything unfortunate enough to be caught outside. Reports of hail as large as softballs falling from the sky at terminal velocity account for the thorough destruction of Drew’s ‘98 Mustang Cobra.

The back window is completely busted out, the front window intact but covered in spider webs of shattered safety glass. The fenders, roof, and hood all have huge dents; no part of the car was spared. Drew’s assertion that the Cobra is totaled is probably on the mark. Insurance only covers so much, and this car is beat up from front to back.

Amazingly, nobody was seriously injured from the hail storm, though property damage will likely tally up to several million dollars. Another Mustang lost to Mother Nature; it’s a shame, but at the end of the day, cars can be replaced. People can’t.
