The popular nature of the Ford Mustang means that simply by virtue of its availability, not everybody is willing or able to appreciate the car for what it is. What we mean is that, if you drive a V6 Mustang, don’t pretend you’re driving something more badass than it is. If you drive a V6 Mustang, there is nothing wrong with that.
But some people just feel the need to lie and exaggerate, especially when it comes to Mustangs. We don’t know what possessed the young man in this video to say what he does, but nobody who knows anything about Mustangs or motors would believe a single word he said.
The video starts with Mr. Cool Guy talking about what he has done with his Mustang, and the first words out of his mouth are “seven and a half-inch pistons.” Which, you know, isn’t a thing at all. And it only gets worse at he talks about his “7.5 combustion” and how it runs, you know, 12’s in the quarter-mile. And once he get his triple turbocharger “tri-charged” setup running 18 PSI, who knows how fast he might go?
About the only modification evident on this boat anchor of an engine is a cold air intake, which frees up MAYBE 5 horsepower. Of course there is a boost gauge inside, because people like Mr. Cool Guy need to measure how much horsepower they aren’t making.
Honestly, we can’t tell if this is a satire/joke, or if Mr. Cool Guy was dead serious. Either way, parents should show this video to their teenage sons before giving them the keys to any car, with a very clear warning; don’t be like this tool.
