We live in a day and age where car collectors the world over will spend hundreds of thousands of dollars on a vehicle they never intend to drive. We can understand not wanting to risk a chance to ruin a priceless, one-off piece of automotive history. But if you’re going to drop huge sums of money onto a restomod Mustang, wouldn’t you to, you know, test it out? 

That is the question we are asking ourselves after finding this eBay auction for a “no expense spared” 1965 Mustang Restomod that has supposedly never been driven. That’s a shame, because it has a mean-lookin’ 6.0 liter, 600 horsepower DOHC V8 under the hood.

Built as a show car, this is certainly a restomod on paper. With eight injector stacks, carbon fiber valve covers, and dual-overhead camshafts, this monster motor must sound very menacing when its fired up. Backing up this beast of an engine is a TKO 600 5-speed manual transmission, because can you imagine having a slushbox automatic in this Mustang? Neither car we.

The real money in this Mustang though is the custom tubular suspension setup made from billet aluminum. Just check out the gorgeous underside of this immaculate pony car. This thing really is a show car, though we can’t help but feel like all these awesome performance parts are just going to waste.

While it almost certainly cost more than this to build, the Buy It Now price of $150,000 isn’t exactly chump change. But we feel like somebody needs to rescue and race this “show car” Mustang, and put it through the paces. This Mustang deserves that much at least.
