Car collecting is big business in America, with auction houses like Mecum and Barrett-Jackson bringing in millions of dollars of business every year. Then of course there is eBay, where Internet-saavy collectors can try to scoop up a good deal on a desirable ride. If you hang around eBay long enough, you’re bound to find some cool cars and great deals.
Yet it isn’t often that you have the option of buying not one, but three rare and valuable Mustangs in a single auction. Today’s eBay find gives you just such an opportunity though. Up for grabs are three rare Mustangs; a 1993, 1995, and 2000 Ford Mustang Cobra R. All three which sold for a reasonable $125,000
We don’t have to tell you Mustang fans that the 1990s saw the return of the Cobra name to Ford dealerships, starting with the 1993 Cobra R. Speced for racing but street legal, the 1993 Cobra R offered in this eBay auction has never been titled, and has just 275 miles on the odometer. It even comes with the original plastic covering, and if you desire, you could title it and be the first “owner”.
The 1995 Mustang Cobra R is also all original, sans the fuel tank which had to be replaced due to a leaking bladder. A new tank was installed and should resolve the leaky bladder issues, though the original fuel cell will be included with the sale as well.
Finally there is the 2000 Cobra R, arguably the strongest performer of the group. This turn-of-the-millenium Mustang Cobra R has just 3,561 miles on the clock, is all original except for the battery, and was kept in a climate controlled garage like the other two.
The pricing is about on par with what the market is currently demanding for Cobra R Mustangs (well, maybe a little optimistic). It would be a great start or a nice addition to anyone’s car collection, but which one would you drive the most…if at all?
