When it comes to hipsters, the one thing that seems to be universally loved by these anti-everything trendsetters is Pabst Blue Ribbon beer. It is horribly ironic that one of the worst-tasting and cheapest beers in America is cherished by a group renowned for their love of homemade craft beers…but the people in charge of Pabst are only too happy to oblige the irony.
In fact, Pabst has seen sales rise dramatically in the past few years, allowing the beer company to get a bit more creative in its marketing schemes. We’re not sure whose idea it was to approach Galpin Auto Sports about building a supercharged Ford SVT Raptor…but whoever it was, they deserve a promotion.
At first glance you wouldn’t know that this Raptor had been commissioned by the Milwaukee-based beer company. There is no obvious nod to Pabst, no glaring logos or catchy slogans…and perhaps that is the key to the Blue Ribbon’s success. Instead GAS focused on the practical aspects, like a remote control tonneau cover, 18-inch matte black wheels, and a lowered suspension setup.
Then of course there is the supercharged 6.2 liter V8 engine cranking out around 600 horsepower. The bright green exterior is carried over on the inside as well, where a killer audio system waits for the driver. How this vehicle will help promote Pabst, we don’t know…but who are we to question the king of hipster beers?
