The spirit of Christmas is giving while sipping hot cocoa with your loved ones, watching reruns, sharing what Santa left in your stocking, and a feast fit for a king among other things. While many people were sleeping and awaiting the arrival of the merriest of men, others were out making Christmas nothing like the one described above.
One man had destruction in mind when he visited a Ford Mustang shop in Forney, Texas, in the early hours of morning. The man on camera spent about twenty five minutes smashing windshields of various cars sitting outside of the shop and setting two of them ablaze. Some of the vehicles smashed include an ’86 5.0 Fox Body Mustang, a ’97 Mustang GT, and a ’69 Mach 1. He then set two of them on fire, the Fox Body and the classic Mach 1. However, the ’97 GT wasn’t spared as the fire spread and completely destroyed both. The fire damaged many of the other cars sitting outside.
Understandably, the shop owner, Gerald Gauthier, is completely devastated. Restoring Mustangs since ’86, he has admitted to having a few things stolen from the shop here and there but no situations of this caliber. He thinks that the Mach 1 can be restored, but the other two are complete losses. Even worse, there was no insurance on the cars. One was the shop owners car, while the other two were customer cars.
Do you think people like this should be subject to the death penalty? At least maybe the same kind of abuse as he had done to these cars?
