When Ford first unveiled the Mustang, it had no idea what an iconic car it was about to become. By the end of the 1960s, the Mustang seemed to be everywhere, from movies and television to t-shirts and coffee cups. Over the years both companies and individuals have drawn inspiration to create Mustang pool tables and golf karts, though one of the very first Mustang products was a pinball machine, released in 1964 around the same time as the original Mustang.
Ford and Stern Pinball have teamed up for a trio of officially-licensed Ford Mustang pinball machines celebrating the new 2015 Mustang, as well as 50 years of Mustang history. It’d be the perfect addition to any man cave or garage.
The Mustang pinball machines will make their debut at the Chicago Auto Show, where pinball champ Zach Sharpe will be on hand to challenge journalists during press days. Different interactive sections of the pinball machine will allow players to “go racing”, and the mechanical bits will combine classic pinball paddles with some modern features in the same way the 2015 Mustang blends 50 years of history with a cutting-edge car.
Stern Pinball will also build a premium version of their pinball game featuring both the 1965 and 2015 Ford Mustang. For big spenders, a limited-edition game will feature a trio of famous Boss Mustangs. Both the premium and limited-edition pinball games come with genuine chrome Mustang badges on the speakers. For the Mustang fan looking to add some flair to their garage or man cave, a Mustang pinball machine sounds perfect.
