There’s a Mustang keepin’ up with the big dogs and it has — gasp — two-cylinders less. The turbo V6 Mustang built by Limitless Performance gives a BOSS 302 and a Corvette ZL1 a run for the money in this video.
We don’t condone street racing in any way, but the V6 Mustang holds its own in a few street races against a white BOSS 302, a car that comes straight out of the factory with 444 horsepower. This particular Boss 302 Coyote was putting down 560 hp with nitrous. According to the guys who built the V6, it is generating 500 wheel horsepower and could be 600 lb-ft of torque with the help of custom internals.
At the drag strip, the V6 takes on a supercharged C7 Stingray Corvette, the car dubbed STNGKLR. While both were said to spin the tires a little bit, the Turbo ‘Stang throws down a nice pass and takes the win against the Vette. This V6 Mustang sure proved that it could hold its own.
As we are sure you know already, the V6 vs. V8 argument is a constant one, one that can be found on almost every forum and automotive website. Those starting with a six-cylinder Mustang often catch flack for opting for less power, others say a Mustang is Mustang despite its power train. We like to think that a Mustang is a Mustang whether the engine bay houses a stock V6, four-banger, or the “almighty” eight cylinders.
