ROUSH recently gave us an exclusive and more complete view of the all- new 2015 ROUSH Mustang. As the cloud of mystery dissipates, we can clearly see ROUSH has taken the 6th generation canvas to the next level in appearance and performance.
With an expanded engine lineup, the offerings are a bit different with the S550 versus the outgoing S197. With the outgoing package ROUSH offered the Stage 1 (cosmetic) and Stage 2 (handling) kits for V-6 and GT models, and Stage 3 (performance) kits which were reserved for the GT model only.
The new structure will now offer the RS for the V-6 model, RS1 for the Mustang EcoBoost model, RS2 for the GT, and an RS3 version that adds a supercharger to the GT’s 5.0-liter V-8. Supercharged versions could offer more than one power level, and even though no official word has been released on the horsepower as of yet, we expect it will surpass the outgoing S197 model. The RS2 will come naturally aspirated (pictured here) and we anticipate will be available this fall or early winter.
Continuing to be a leader in track performance we can report the suspension will have an optional one-way or three-way adjustable coil over system developed by ROUSH. This will allow for improved performance on or off track and is a great option for the ROUSH owner who wants to take their driving experience to the next level.
Moving to the exhaust, the new package includes Active Exhaust along with quad exhaust tips peeking out from the newly designed and more aggressive rear diffuser. Continuing to the front, an obvious lower front grill design has been put into place along a more pronounced fascia with a chin splitter, and accented air ducts along with fog lights that have now moved to the center air intake. Finishing off this ROUSH packaged design are ROUSH exclusive wheels. In the past ROUSH designs have been one of the most desired in the aftermarket, it appears they will continue their domination as offering the wheel of choice with their stunning 20-inch cast wheels.
We can’t wait to get our hands on a a new ROUSH for testing, as we have with previous models. We anticipate the RS1 EcoBoost will be a big seller as the four-cylinder that can gains steam. Tell us what you think of the all new ROUSH Mustang in the comments below.
