ACT’s New Clutch Kits For the 2011 5.0 Mustang

Advanced Clutch Technology released a high performance clutch kit for the 2011 5.0 Mustangs. With performance minded owners utilizing the vast array of power adders to increase power, the result is the need for a stronger clutch. ACT offers the Street Clutch Kit capable of handling a torque capacity of 565 ft lb while the Race Clutch Kit can handle over 700 ft lb.

Advanced Clutch Technology (ACT) has released a new high performance clutch kit and components for the 2011 Ford Mustang GT 5.0L V8.

ACT’s new clutch kit for the 2011 Ford Mustang GT features a Heavy Duty Pressure Plate that incorporates hardened diaphragm fingers for decreased wear and provides a 35% increase in clamp force over the stock unit.

The ACT Street Clutch Kit combines the Heavy Duty Pressure Plate and a Performance Organic Street Disc, a disc that features special performance organic friction materials to withstand increased heat and abuse, steel backed linings for high burst strength and modifications engineered for quicker shifting. The ACT Street Clutch Kit provides a moderate and consistent pedal feel, smooth engagement, significantly improved durability and increases the torque capacity to 565 ft. lbs.

ACT Race Clutch Kits will hold 724 ft. lbs. of torque. Cerametallic Xtreme Discs are available in 6 pad spring centered and rigid hub designs and are very durable while allowing for quick shifting. The Xtreme Discs are for high power engines and recommended for track use only.

The result is maximum torque capacity, long life and clean, fast shifting.
