Caddyshack Golf Carts is selling a run of 43 2017 Petty’s Garage Limited Edition Mustang Golf Carts, but the first example is already spoken for by The King himself, Richard Petty.

While Petty’s Garage is building only 43 of its King Premier edition 2017 Mustangs, these are not the Petty machines limited to their namesake’s historic NASCAR car number. However, these machines are not pony cars, rather they are pony carts built by Caddyshack Golf Carts of Palm Desert, California.

“Only 43 are being produced including the first which went to The King himself. That leaves only 42 available for purchase,” says the company of its 2017 Petty’s Garage Limited Edition Mustang Golf Carts.

The Petty’s Garage Mustang carts stand out thanks to BASF paint in Petty’s Garage Colors, Petty’s Garage logo’d seats and a carbon fiber-style dashes.

Among the Petty-specific upgrades on these carts are BASF paint in Petty’s Garage Colors, Petty’s Garage logo’d seats, and carbon fiber-style dashes. These mods are along the lines of the real Mustangs The King has created for sale.

“I’ve always liked the look of the Mustang, and the 2016 model gives us a great base car to work with,” Richard Petty said of his latest line of full-size Mustangs. “These new King edition Mustangs are pretty much the way I’d build my own. They are great fun to drive, and have a signature single exhaust.”

While the Petty’s Garage golf carts don’t have an exhaust, as they are powered by a 48-volt electric with three-phase AC induction motor, they will reach a top speed of 19.5 mph, which should be plenty take you around the golf course or car show field. And, wouldn’t it be cool to pull up next to your Petty Mustang in a Petty cart?
