Adding a quality set of drag wheels to your late-model performance vehicle has always been a challenging endeavor, especially if your car is already running big brakes. For enthusiasts ordering their muscle cars performance packages including huge multi-piston brake calipers, finding the perfect set of weekend quarter-mile wheels that can be swapped out on the fly can be even more difficult. At least until JMS Chip & Performance comes to the rescue.

The company debuted its new 18-inch Avenger series drag wheel which is designed explicitly for big brake clearance for cars like modern Shelby GT500s and Mustang GTs.

“JMS wheels are specifically engineered for hard-core racers and street warriors who are looking for a high-quality product at a great price,” Brad Grissom, of JMS, told us. “Our new 18×5-inch, high-pressure-cast drag wheel allows you to gain a lot of strength without having to sacrifice weight. These wheels are load rated at 1,521 pounds which meets OEM specifications.

JMS’ new wheels are designed to clear the huge calipers found on 2007-2014 Shelby GT500s as well as the 2015-2018 Ford Mustangs with the optional Performance Pack, making it easy for late-model performance enthusiasts bolt on lightweight wheels at the drag strip.
