The Fox body Mustang market remains popular, even though it’s been well over 20 years since the last Fox rolled off the assembly line in Michigan. Whether you’re building a hot Fox for the street, strip, autocross, or road course, eventually the subject of wheels will come along. Choosing wheels that fit your budget, compliment your car, and perform as desired can make or break your project.

At the 2015 PRI Show, Race Star Industries rolled out its new line of four-lug wheels for the Fox body Mustang. The 91 drag star is a five spoke wheel aimed directly at the street/strip Mustang enthusiast. “We have been getting calls from customers looking for a five spoke wheel in four-lug, so we’ve designed a wheel specifically for them,” says Race Star’s LB Davis.

The 91 Drag Star is available in metallic gray or black chrome finishes, and will come in 15×3.75, 15×8, and 15×10 sizes with appropriate back-spacing for Fox body applications. Davis says these wheels have a 1,580 pound load rating and are made from 356 cast aluminum. “This is a strong wheel that will take just about anything you can throw at it,” Davis says.

Race Star was also showing off its new 88 Dart wheel. Like the 91 Drag Star this wheel is aimed at the Fox body market as well as the import market, more specifically the Honda Civic. The 88 Dart is a mesh design that offers a different, almost euro look, which to us evokes images of specialty Mustangs of the late 1980s.

The 88 Dart will be available in metallic gray or black center finishes, both finishes come with a polished lip. It is also made from 356 cast aluminum and carries the same 1,580 pounds load rating.

Davis says the 91 Drag Star and 88 Dart will be available and in stock in January 2016. Race Star will offer lug nut kits and hardware kits specific to each application.
