There are many trends within the automotive world, from big-wheeled donks and bouncing hydraulics to gas-guzzling muscle cars and buzzy flyweight imports. In the pursuit of something different, many people are now cross-breeding different kinds of project cars together; there are muscle car and import donks, stanced domestics, and just about every other combo you can think of.
This stanced Mustang is part of a growing movement, generally among import drivers, of slamming their cars to within less than an inch of the ground. But as Stance Nation explains, what makes this Mustang different is that even though its slammed to the ground, it still has performance on par with the most powerful muscle cars.
Owned by Omar Hashi, this 2012 Mustang GT is a unique car in its own right owing to a slammed appearance and a powerful drivetrain. Because Omar likes to race his car as much as he likes it to ride really low he chose to use an airbag system from UAS, with BC coilovers, that allows him to adjust the ride height on the fly. An AccuAir system manages the bags, allowing this muscle car to creep along so close to the ground that a tennis ball would be a serious obstacle to forward progress.
It’s more than just a pretty face though. Omar’s Mustang packs a 200-shot of Nitrous Express nitrous, stage 3 Comp Cams camshafts, and several BOSS 302 components that allow this stanced ‘Stang to put 755 hp and 724 ft-lbs of torque to the rear wheels. Omar claims to have clicked off a 10.36 quarter-mile at 138 mph, among the fastest you’ll find on street-driven Mustangs, while being able to cruise home low and slow.
Omar’s Mustang is different, and there are plenty more pics over at Stance Nation should you still be undecided on it. But we think it goes without saying that this is one sick, stanced ‘Stang.
