Ford continues to be an innovator in the automobile market. With the release of the New 2015 Ford Edge, Ford Motor Company has raised the bar in the sport utility vehicle arena. With every inch of the car based design, undergoing a complete overhaul, from interior to exterior. Ford says they’ve kept in mind that customers expect “something premium, powerful and special,” says Judy Curran, vehicle line director for Ford.

Continuing to be a leader three years in a row in the sport utility market, the new 2015 Edge design will provide an improved driving experience and deliver better fuel efficiency. With three engine options, the Edge will be the first in the Ford line up, equipped with a standard EcoBoost engine. That engine will be the twin-scroll 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder. Other engine options will include a 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 along with a normally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 engine. All three options include a paddle-shift system.

Suspension updates include a MachPherson-type front suspension with a new integral-link independent rear with coil springs and a 23-millmeter antiroll bar with a tune providing an overall smoother ride for the driver.

The new Edge will also feature new adaptive steering technology to make for easier maneuvering. Other new tech features include: adaptive cruise control and collision warning with brake support, auto start-stop technology, and a Camera system providing a 180-degree front camera with washer featured and for the first time on a Ford vehicle a standard rearview camera.

With a completely redesigned exterior, the 2015 Edge will come in four appearance options. A sleek more aerodynamic appearance will be offered in the SE, SEL, Sport and for the first time a Titanium series to meet the demand for a premium package. Many safety improvements and enhancements have been made as well with this the number one priority to keep drivers safe.

Ford is looking to continue to gain market share in the mid-size SUV segment and build upon their success in the sport utility market with a higher level of luxury, comfort, and technology.
