The SN95 platform is often shunned by many enthusiasts. Given the proper work however, these cars can become potent performers. Rolling onto the shores of StangTV, is the most recent ride from our friends at Rate My Ridez. “Red Tide”, is an angry Supercharged 1996 Mustang GT ready for track or street scene. This red and black beast is the creation of owner Josh Minson.
This sick creation with a mean inner and outer appearance was picked up by Minson a few years ago after jumping off the jeep train and onto the high speed bullet train of Mustangs. Never looking back Minson hammered down and began the evolution of Ride Tide.
Beginning with the engine bay a Vortech supercharger was dropped onto the 4.6 V8 motor along with an Anderson Power pipe to unleash more airflow. Boosting power and performance a Ford Racing air-intake was swapped on with a Snow Performance Stage Two methanol injection system. Continuing with performance enhancements a BBK Timing Adjuster was added. Ignition upgrades include Screamin Demon coils and Ford Racing plug wires and finishing off this bangin ride Pacesetter long tube headers with off road x-pipe.
Moving to the Exterior with a one of a kind vision in mind, Minson beefed up appearance with a Custom black and red paint scheme along with a Saleen S281 spoiler, Cobra front bumper and Lowered the car 2.5-inches using UPR coil-overs.
To further improve track performance, Red Tide’s suspension was treated with UPR Pro Street Upper and Lower Control Arms and QA1 Kemember and A-Arms. Improving traction 18×9 Cobra R wheels with Nitto 555 275/45/18s were swapped on and for the track days. Minson uses Centerline Drag Wheels with Hoosier 27/11.5/15 Quick Time Pros. Providing harder launches are Lakewood 70/30 struts in front and 50/50 shocks in rear.
Taking the theme of the Tide inside aftermarket racing seats were bolted in along with a Hurst pistol Grip shifter, and a Pillar Gauge Pod with GlowShift wideband fuel pressure and boost gauge finishing with a new steering column mounted Aeroforce Interceptor gauge.
On the strip Red Tide is currently throwing down consistent 12.711 ETs at 110 mph. How else would you modify this lethal ride? Are you ready to take on that challenge?
