The life of the rich and famous is an existence to be envious of, to be sure. Sure, they’re hounded by the paparazzi, and the work schedules on-set can be grueling, but the riches and rewards that await them make the extra effort worth the work. For years now celebrities have flaunted their status with tinted limos and the latest European exotics.
But the Daily Mail reports that those limos and exotics are being replaced by classic muscle cars, as celebrities and starlets trade Italian-built V12 power for loud, rumbling American iron.
Classic cars have always been popular with the rich and famous, but these days there seems to be a shift in attitudes as more stars opt for customized classics over luxurious modern cars. Among them is Nick Jonas, who at just 19 years old can regularly be seen driving a ‘68 Mustang around Hollywood.
But it isn’t just male stars rocking classic American iron. The Rum Diaries star Amber Heard speaks frequently and lovingly of her 1968 Ford Mustang as well. While its not a classic, Sean Penn also rocks a more modern Mustang with a matte black paint job, and Cam Giganet of Twilight fame has a ‘68 Shelby GT500 for his own personal use.
In other words, Mustangs are in vogue with Hollywood’s hottest actors, which is a huge step up from those snooty European cars if you ask us.
