The rise of YouTube has given rise to the Internet star, and anybody with a camcorder and an Internet connection can get their 15 minutes of fame. Many people actively work to become the next YouTube sensation, which is why we have talent like Justin Beiber. Other stars become famous for their failures, like the kid who crashed his father’s brand new Mustang through the wall of their garage.
That was little 14-year old Joey, and that clip was posted almost six years. Amazingly, Joey has agreed to come on the hit Comedy Central show Tosh.O for his chance at a “Web Redemption.”
For those unfamiliar with the show, Daniel Tosh is a comedian who goes with the tried-and-true format of making fun of videos scoured from YouTube. Tosh goes one step further though, reaching out to Internet sensations who became laughing stocks of the web after their stupidity was broadcast to the whole world.
For little Joey, that meant millions of people saw the teen climb into his father’s 2007 Mustang GT Eleanor Edition five minutes after his father brought it home. The dealership stickers were still in the window when Joey turned the key. Alas, daddy had left the Mustang in gear, and the muscle car shot forward through the family garage.
Tosh is going to give Joey a chance to redeem himself on tonight’s show, and there should be some automotive-related shenanigans to go along. Any other Tosh.O fans out there?
