Roush Performance is known for its excellent engines and competitive motorsports program. Roush is perhaps even better known for its lineup of incredible “Stage 3” Mustangs, which combine superchargers with Roush handling packages for an all-around amazing track and street machine.
To help celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Society of Automotive Engineers, Roush Performance has teamed up with Ford Motorsports to auction off a one-off Mustang to help support SAE outreach programs.
For those who missed out on the details of Roush’s 2013 RS3 Mustang, let us catch you up to speed. Horsepower is now up to 565 ponies and 505 ft-lbs of torque, a marked improvement over the 2012 model. Aside from interior and exterior upgrades, the RS3 also gets a top-notch suspension package that turns this street car into a corner carver.
The auction will take place during the SAE 25th Anniversary Celebration at Ford Field. The silver edition Mustang will be auctioned off to help with SAE outreach programs encouraging students to enter the fields of science and engineering. Roush and Ford, helping make engineering seem cool again. We can totally support that, because without engineers, we wouldn’t have the Mustang, and without the Mustang…well life is kinda boring.
