The Ford Mustang is a world famous muscle car, one that collectors from nearly every nation desire to have in their garage. And while most people might be content with a plain-jane Mustang, there are almost limitless aftermarket options that allow you to customize your Mustang from front to back. And while Ford may not sell the Mustang in Europe, there are enough gray market examples to make up a formidable aftermarket.
Prior Design, a German tuning and aftermarket parts company who usually deals with high-end luxury brands, has put out a kit called the C5 for 2005 to 2009 Mustangs.
Rather than go retro, Prior Design has embraced a more contemporary look that really Europeanized the Mustang, especially the bank end, The four-piece kit includes front and rear fascia as well as two side skirts, and the more-modern look really takes the retro out of Ford’s design. Depending on your preferences, this is either a good or a bad thing.
The wacky rear diffuser requires a special quad-exhaust system, and not everybody is going to like the four-headlight treatment. But it certainly is a different look, one that many find some fans on this side of the Atlantic. Have the Germans done good, or does this Mustang beg to be repatriated?
