Make no mistake; as a whole, the Mustang community is a generous, kind, and save for the occasional hooning, law-abiding segment of the population. But like every community, there are unscrupulous, sketchy, and downright criminal members of the Mustang world who see our favorite cars not as cars, but tools to a devious end.
We’re not sure why the driver of this white SN95 Mustang decided to run from the police, but the ensuing wreck ejected him from his Mustang and cost him his life reports My San Antonio. What the hell as he running from?
The accident occurred around 3 AM Tuesday morning, after a patrol car spotted the Mustang heading east at speeds higher than the posted speed limit. The cops took off in pursuit, but the driver, 30-year old Juan Longoria, refused to pull over. What happened next is sketchy, but after taking the Frio St. exit (which has a police substation at the bottom), Longoria lost control of his Mustang and hit a retaining wall.
According to the wrecker driver, Longoria was ejected from the car and was probably killed on impact, which indicates that he probably wasn’t wearing his seat belt. His passenger was unharmed, reminding us of the Mustang’s crash test strength and leaving us with the deadly reminder that seat belts do save lives, and that it is never worth running from the police.
