It’s about time that the brand new 2013 Shelby GT500 started showing up in the hands of people where you know only great things are in the making. The brand spankin’ new Shelby is already well-endowed with a ridiculous 662 factory horsepower! That’s already impressive by itself. Add a few performance goodies and you’re bound to end up massacring everybody at the track.
The Mustang guys over at Lethal Performance got their hands on one of the first GT500’s delivered on June 14th and you know that they’ve have already had a few tricks up their sleeves. They have been fine tuning this beast to put down some serious power, more than it was already blessed with. When they first received their new ‘Stang, they threw it on the dyno where it put out a nice 590 rwhp. That’s a nice base number to work with, that’s for sure.
The first modification that they installed on the new Shelby was a Lund SCT tune with a 3-inch midpipe added to the exhaust setup. With such a brand new Mustang to work with, not a whole lot is available just yet. However, that didn’t stop them from putting a 150 hp shot of nitrous oxide also. After the installation of those mods, it puts down a ridiculously impressive 763.9 rear wheel horsepower and 859.9 ft. lb. of torque! That’s a gain of 173.9 horsepower measured by their dyno. That’s complete craziness, and we like it. Check out the results in the video!
How awesome is a time of 10.582 at 141 mph in the quarter mile?
