SAAC-36 is the annual convention for Shelby and other Mustang enthusiasts being run this weekend at Virginia International Raceway, near Alton, VA. Starting tomorrow, participants will have access to the track and skid pad at VIR, as well as a judged concours car show, vintage racing, parade laps, a swap met, a judged car show and a popular vote show as well.
Ford Superfest 2011, the national event hosted by SVT Owners Association and the SCMC (the SVT Cobra – Mustang Club) is also running this weekend at VIR. All the clubs have combined their eforts to create a memorable Memorial weekend experience.
SAAC has previously held their national convention at VIR and is happy to return. By combining their efforts with the other clubs, much more of the track’s facilities have been opened up, including the full 4.2-mile circuit at VIR. Nestled in the woods of southern Virginia. VIR is without a doubt, one of the great driver’s tracks, with high speed sections, fast but technical portions, elevation changes and, or course, the famous Oak Tree corner.
