Unless you’ve been living under a rock since 1995, you’ll know that the NMRA Ford Nationals is one of the largest Ford-only drag racing series in the country. The 25th annual season-opener will commence with one of the longest-running categories in street-legal drag racing, the JLT Performance Spring Break Shootout at Bradenton Motorsports Park on February 28th to March 3rd.
“This is our third year as the sponsor of the Spring Break Shootout and we are happy and excited to be back and part of the NMRA,” said Jay and Lisa Tucker of JLT Performance. “The organization has exciting racing and there are many NMRA racers who use and win with our products. We got more involved three years ago to support the series and racers and it’s always fun going to Bradenton to kick off the race season.”
The season-opener is expected to be one of the largest yet. With record-breaking anticipation from pre-ticket sales and vehicles confirmed to race, the NMRA looks to have its most successful season-opener in Florida to date — surpassing last year’s 152 confirmed cars in the QA1 True Street series.
The Spring Break Shootout class is set to take place on March 3rd and is open to the quickest 16 cars that run in the QA1 True Street class on Saturday, March 2nd. To be eligible for the Spring Break Shootout class, competitors must meet True Street rules, compete in the True Street class on Saturday and make all three True Street passes.
Gear up and get ready, folks. The winner of the Spring Break Shootout will take home $800 cash, a Baer Brakes Deep Stage Drag Racing Brake Kit, a prestigious NMRA Victor award and a celebration in the Aerospace Components Winner’s Circle!
