If you are a die-hard drifting fan, you will soon have the ability to drift a 1,000-horsepower Mustang. Virtually, that is. That’s because Microsoft Studios, in collaboration with Formula DRIFT, announced the release of the new Formula DRIFT Car Pack which will be available in Forza Horizon 4 and Forza Motorsport 7.
The add-on download features seven new cars for you to collect, drive and customize. Gamers will need to digitally pre-order the upcoming Forza Horizon 4 video game, and they will receive the new Drift Pack in both Forza Horizon 4 at launch and in Forza Motorsport 7 on Xbox One this fall.
One of the new cars that will be available at launch is Justin Pawlak’s Formula DRIFT 2015 ROUSH Mustang. This ROUSHCharged S550 is sure to be a fan favorite and was one of the vehicles that helped prove that Mustangs can hold their own on the drift scene against many of the smaller-displacement vehicles.
Forza race fans know that drifting events have become a significant focus for the Forza franchise this year. The popular new mode allows fans to kill all tires in the video game and are rewarded based on a new scoring model that breaks down your drifting skills along three on-screen criteria (line, angle, and speed).
What makes this new game mode so unique (and fun!) is that players are now able to link their drifts along the entire race track, a feature that allows gamers to display some epic drift displays on some of the toughest tracks in the world. And when you combine the new drift suspension upgrade option that is also available in Forza Motorsport 7, it makes for some fiercely competitive gameplay.
For example, players are now able to upgrade any car in the game with this new drift suspension, allowing some extreme steering angles, which is entirely tunable by the player. The customizable upgrades make initiating a slide easier than ever, while at the same time maintaining a drift angle even Formula DRIFT driver Justin Pawlak would find challenging.
Fans of the Forza franchise can look forward to trying out all seven vehicles once the car pack launches later this year.
