The whole year boils down to just one event for many aftermarket car parts companies, and that event is SEMA. Located in Las Vegas, Nevada, i.e. the City of Sin, SEMA is where all the players, large and small, come to brag, boast, and try to boost their business at what has been called the world’s greatest car show.
While some companies prefer to hold off until the show itself for the big release, other companies just can’t wait. In an effort to showcase the superb wrapping film of Avery Dennison, Pictographics is bringing to SEMA a Mustang they call the Track Fighter, and we’ve got the first pictures of it to share with you all.
The Track Fighter Mustang draws on the original inspiration for the Mustang name, and no, we don’t mean the horse. Rather, the Mustang name came from the popularity of the P-51 Mustang air superiority fighter that ruled the skies over Europe during World War II.
This 2013 Mustang GT was wrapped in fighter plane like vinyl covering that certainly makes it look like one of a kind. The design comes from Major Edwin W. Hiro’s famous “Horse Itch” fighter plane. Hiro famously shot down two German airplanes that were strafing soldiers during the D-Day landings, before being shot down and killed himself six days later.
But there’s more to this Mustang than a fancy wrap. It will also feature a host of upgrades including Doug Thorley headers, dyed Recaro racing seats, forged wheels, and an Airaid cold air intake system. It is an all-around awesome Mustang, and we can’t wait to see it in person at this year’s SEMA show.
