Most of us have probably gotten a speeding ticket before, and it isn’t exactly a pleasant experience. More then once many of us have probably cursed out the cops, insinuating that they have something better to do then pull us over while we were just out and about screwing around in our cars.
Well, police around the country do a lot more then just hand out speeding tickets to those of us with lead feet. The Kentucky State Police have to keep order in 120 counties and catch illegal moonshiners feeling down country backroads. But in between chasing moonshiners, these cops run a camp for disadvantaged children supported mostly by donations. To raise money and awareness for this camp, the Kentucky State Police are raffling a 2011 Mustang GT.
Being that the Mustang is among the most recognizable cars in the world, auctioning one off for charity is a great idea. The auction will benefit the Trooper Island Summer Camp for disadvantaged boys and girls aged 10 to 12 from around Kentucky. Troopers select kids from each of the sixteen posts around the state that otherwise might not get to go to the camp. While there, children learn to develop a positive self image of their selves, as well as about good nutrition.
Trooper Island is located in a secluded corner of Dale Hollow Lake near the Cumberland and Clinton County line. The island was leased from the Army Corp of Engineers, and raffle tickets for the Mustang GT auction can be picked up at State Trooper posts in every country. Benefit a good cause and maybe win a Mustang. What more can you want?
