Adding forced induction to Ford’s new 5.0 liter V8 engine has already produced some impressive results. While superchargers may seem like the way to go so far, turbochargers are an alternative that have been making impressive gains as of late. One company in particular we have been keeping our eye on is Fastlane Inc., who have been hard at working turbocharging their 2011 Mustang 5.0.

Well the results are in, and during Fastlane’s latest shakedown run, the turbocharged 2011 5.0 Mustang ran a very impressive 10.4 @ 133 mph.

First, a brief recap. Fastlane Inc., based out of Houston, Texas, was given a chance to work on a customer’s 2011 5.0 Mustang with essentially no limits. So they started building a turbocharger kit for the Mustang, first coming in at just 6 psi. Even with just that little boost though, the high-compression 5.0 was able to produce 543 horsepower, while leaving the rest of the engine alone.

In fact, Fastlane has not touched any part of the Mustang other than the engine. This car still has the stock suspension and the full OEM interior. They did however decide to crank the boost up from 6 to 14 psi for this shakedown run. In all likelihood this car is producing anywhere from 650-750 horsepower at the wheels, and it looks like it still might have more power to tap into – it took just two runs to get to that 10.4 second ¼ mile run. Bump it up a few more pounds of boost, and you’re knocking on 9’s doors. Keep up the good work, Fastlane.
