Recently the team at Brenspeed sent us an email with details on a recent customer build. This particular car, a 2010 ROUSH Performance 427 R, was already a hot performer from the factory when new with 435 hp, straight off the showroom floor.

This customer wanted more out of the car, but there were stipulations. This is his weekend fun car, and he wanted something powerful, fast, and fun, that he could still put the family in and cruise around comfortably. He wasn’t looking to go drag racing, or racing of any kind, and he didn’t want a lot of hassles, or trickery involved in driving the car. In short, it’s a have your cake and eat it too scenario. Fortunately for this customer that is exactly what Brenspeed specializes in.

The build foundation is a Brenspeed B326 engine. The B326 is a stout bullet  that is built entirely in house by Brenspeed to ensure the highest level of quality control. We detailed the B326 specs a while back, but to recap briefly, it’s based on the Ford Racing Performance Parts BOSS Modular block, filled with forged internals, and robust enough to handle whatever the customer wants to throw at it.

The shortblock is topped off with a set of Brenspeed CNC ported three-valve, big valve heads, complete with custom B2 cams. A ROUSH TVS 2300 supercharger with stock inlet sits atop it all, inhaling through a ROUSH cold air intake system, and wearing a slightly smaller 2.75-inch supercharger pulley.

Add to the mix a set of Kook’s headers and catted X-pipe, as well Tremec Magnum XL transmission conversion, and a full Brenspeed built 8.8 rearend with 3.73 gears and you have the recipe for one very impressive performer.

The combination made 660 hp on the dyno, and over 600 ft-lbs of torque. The owner reports respectable fuel economy, and cruising at 90 mph in sixth gear pulls just 2,000 RPM.
