Here is one 2011 Mustang 5.0 that is no joke. One of the members of the Mustang Source forums is putting down a super impressive 522rwhp out of a naturally aspirated 5-liter and regular pump gas. The guys at B@D Racing, Brain Shapiro and Mason Rowland in Van Nuys California, helped make this car a beast. The “Law man” says that he has them to thank for making his dream a reality, turning his high revving engine into a highway star/track animal. He mentions that this 5.0 is insanely fast but becomes docile at low speeds.
This car is perfectly up to par since he has built it for Willow Springs and is going to be among the likes of Porsche and Ferrari and he doesn’t want the littlest little rattle having those folks picking on an American Car, although completely worthy. Everything is perfect with the smallest attention to detail.
The engine features a deck plated and line bored short block with forged rods and Wiseco forged pistons. Also, the crank is balanced and polished and the Oil Squirters have been removed. The pistons and rods are good for 1000 hp. They have installed Livernois ported heads with Boss valve springs. Also installed under the hood are Comp stage two cams and a Boss intake manifold that is connected to a Steeda cold air intake. The rumble comes from Kooks high flow catted X-pipe and Borla mufflers exhaust setup.
For cooling, this Mustang features a Saleen grille, Ford Racing vented hood and a Boss engine oil cooler, with a Fluidyne radiator on the way. The transmission and drivetrain consist of a Torsen T2r Differential (4:1) bias ratio with a Barton shifter and shifter bracket.
Stopping power is provided by Brembos in the front with Hawk pads and full tilt front brake rotors that are a good 7-8 lbs lighter than stock. The suspension consists of BMR rear lower control arms, relocation brackets, Steeda Sport Springs, adjustable Koni Yellows, MM Caster Camber plates, Steeda BumpSteer kit, Steeda Ball joints, Strano front adjustable sway bar at 35.5 mm with the rear sway bar at 24 mm.
The Wheels are Forgestar F-14s with 19×9 in the front and 19×10 in the rear wrapped with 275/40/19 Pirellis on the rear. The interior consists of full black and Blue Alcantara suede which covers the front and rear seats. However, there are suede accents on the dash, doors, and shifter console. The shift boot and parking break boot are both matching black and blue made out of soft Italian leather from Redline Sporting Goods. The shift ball is black with a rally flag embedded on it.
That’s not it for mods, though. The floor and doors have been Dynomatted along with the transmission tunnel, the entire trunk with 1/2 inch foam sound padding underneath the front carpeting and trunk. He added extra thick Ford Racing carpet in the front and thick Ford Racing carpeting in the trunk. The car is loud on the outside but “civilized and quiet” on the inside.
